The Great Lakes Loons, High-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, announced their coaching staff for the 2022 season that will once again be led by manager Austin Chubb.

Chubb has been with the Dodgers organization since 2016 as a coach in some capacity. The 2021 Loons produced a record-breaking season where the team hit the most home runs in franchise history en route to a 63-57 record.

Dylan Nasiatka is entering his third year within the Dodgers organization as a hitting coach. He most recently served as the hitting coach for Low-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2021.

David Anderson, also heading into a third year with the Dodgers farm system, is serving as the Loons’ pitching coach. Anderson received a promotion from holding the same title for the Arizona Fall League affiliate of the Dodgers.

Former Dodgers utility man Elian Herrera is remaining on Great Lakes staff in the same bench coach role he held last season.

Joining the support staff are Ethan Quarles as a performance coach, Griffin Boyte as head athletic trainer, and Dagin Renck as the team’s video associate.

Many of the Dodgers’ most talented draft picks start off with Great Lakes, which makes imperative that the organization maintains a good coaching staff. Chubb has done an excellent job so far and his coaching staff will provide supplementary insight as the Dodgers try and develop their young talent.

Dodgers prospects Andy Pages, Eddys Leonard and Miguel Vargas spent extended time with the Loons last season. While some have already moved up, Leonard and Jorbit Vivas most likely will start the 2022 season in Great Lakes.

Dodgers farm system among best

The Dodgers have an excellent track record when it comes to drafting and developing talent, consistently ranking amongst the league’s elite in that department. The 2022 season is no different as Kiley McDaniel of ESPN ranked the Dodgers near the top in terms of farm systems.

Even after graduating consensus top-100 prospects Gavin Lux, Will Smith and Dustin May, the Dodgers still have excellent talent coming up. That includes Diego Cartaya, Andy Pages, Bobby Miller and Ryan Pepiot.
