The Los Angeles Dodgers avoided falling into a 3-0 deficit against the Atlanta Braves and now look to even the National League Championship Series when the teams go back at it in Game 4.

Julio Urias takes the ball for the Dodgers on short rest and makes his fourth appearance of the postseason. He last pitched in Game 2 at Truist Park, where he allowed two runs on three hits over an inning of relief.

“I mean, I think it’s certainly a possibility,” manager Dave Roberts said of fatigue potentially being an issue for Urias in Game 4. “But I think with Julio the expectation where we kind of, how we use him in his start days, it’s kind of 75, 80 pitches.

“So we just felt that, not having the bullpen, to be able to give us what he gives us on a typical start, we don’t think it would be compromised, no.”

Urias’ only other start this postseason came in Game 2 of the NL Division Series against the San Francisco Giants, when he picked up a win after allowing one run and three hits in five innings of work.

Urias went 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA and 0.91 WHIP in 11 innings against the Braves during the regular season. He owns an even better 1.80 ERA and 0.80 WHIP against them in four career games.

The Braves initially planned to counter with Huascar Ynoa, but he was scratched due to shoulder inflammation. Jesse Chavez instead will start in his place and serve as the opener.

The right-hander posted a 2.14 ERA across 30 appearances during the regular season and has yet to be charged with a run over 3.1 innings in the postseason, but gave up the go-ahead RBI double to Mookie Betts in Game 3.

The Dodgers remain confident in Gavin Lux, who is still starting in center field.
