The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Colorado Rockies in Game 163 to clinch a sixth consecutive National League West title and set a matchup with the Atlanta Braves in the NL Division Series. It marks a third time in franchise history the Dodgers will face the Braves in the NLDS.

Just as when the clubs met in the 2013 postseason, the Dodgers again have home-field advantage. Games 1 and 2 will be played at Dodger Stadium on Thursday and Friday, respectively. If necessary, the NLDS would return to Chavez Ravine for Game 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The Braves had long clinched the NL East, but were awaiting results of games to determine champions in the NL West and NL Central, and therefore seeding. Up until their loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on the final day of the regular season, they were in position to potentially earn home-field advantage for the NLDS.

While the Dodgers had secured a postseason berth on Saturday, they too weren’t certain of what that entailed until Monday. By winning a sixth consecutive NL West title they head into the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the NL.
