The Los Angeles Dodgers have the third-best odds at 10-1 to win the 2017 World Series, per online oddsmaker Sportsbook. The Chicago Cubs are the favorite to repeat at 15-4 odds, while the Boston Red Sox hold 6-1 odds.

In previously released 2017 World Series odds, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook also listed the Cubs as the favorite, at 9-1 odds. The Dodgers, Red Sox and Washington Nationals tied for second-best odds at 10-1.

While the Cubs defied history to end their World Series drought, the Dodgers have now gone 28 years since their last trip to the Fall Classic, which is sixth-longest stretch in the Majors.

The Seattle Mariners and Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals sit atop the list, having never reached the World Series.

Along with being considered a favorite to win the World Series this season, the Dodgers were recently projected by PECOTA to pace the Majors with a 98-64 record and win an unprecedented fifth consecutive National League West title.

PECOTA pegged the Dodgers to finish 12 games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the division. The Baseball Prospectus forecast has the Cubs winning their division with a 90-72 record, and the Red Sox going 90-72 to claim the American League East crown.

By most accounts, Los Angeles should be improved from a club that won 91 games and fell just shy of reaching the World Series, despite setting a Major League record by placing 28 different players on the disabled list throughout the season.

What’s more, the Dodgers used 55 different players and 31 different pitchers last season to offset the recurring injuries. Both numbers tied team records.
