The Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros begin the 2017 World Series with Games 1 and 2 at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. If necessary, Game 6 and/or 7 would also be played at Chavez Ravine, on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

First pitch for Games 1 and 2 is set for 5:09 p.m. PT each night. All auto and Dodger Stadium gates will open at 2:00 p.m., which is also the time the Dodgers will begin taking batting practice.

The Astros will hold BP starting at 3 p.m., with pregame festivities commencing at 4:30. Unlike for previous postseason games, the Dodgers did not yet announce who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch or sing the national anthem before Games 1 and 2.

Fans are again encouraged to arrive early, purchase parking in advance, carpool or utilize a ride share service. Advance parking can be purchased online at Dodgers.com/postseason ($30 in advance/$50 at the gate).

The Dodger Stadium Express will continue to operate during the World Series from both Union Station and the South Bay. Service begins three hours before start time and is free for everyone with a game ticket.

The Dodgers are in their 19th World Series, but first since 1988. It’s a second appearance for the Astros, who are the first team in MLB history to win the National League and American League pennants.

Furthermore, the World Series matchup is the first between teams that won 100-plus games during the regular season since the Baltimore Orioles (108-54) defeated the Cincinnati Reds (102-60) in the 1970 World Series. Los Angeles-Houston makes for the eighth such matchup all-time.
