Kirsten Watson Throws First Pitch; Dodgers Walk-Up Songs Picked By Wives & Girlfriends

The Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated Women’s Night at Dodger Stadium on Friday, which included Kirsten Watson being among those to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Watson had been preparing for the moment and went up to the base of the mound before throwing the pitch to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Women’s Night also saw Dodgers walk-up songs chosen by player wives and girlfriends once again.

Tony Gonsolin historically warms up to “Cat Daddy” by The Rej3ctz, but on Friday he did so to “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys.

Chelsea Freeman appropriately picked “Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira for Freddie Freeman. The All-Star first baseman went viral for his dancing at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala, and Freeman’s moves have since been incorporated by the team as a celebration after an extra-base hit.

Kellie Muncy chose “…Ready For It?” by Taylor Swift for Max Muncy, and Nicole Barnes also went with the smash pop star for Austin Barnes with “Cruel Summer.” Though, by the time Barnes heard his walk-up song upon entering off the bench, the game was well out of hand.

Just like last year, Mookie Betts was the first Dodgers position player to have a new song played. He hit a leadoff home run but that was one of the few highlights for the Dodgers in a loss that snapped their season-best winning streak at 11 games.

Muncy and James Outman (“Milkshake” by Kelis) also hit solo home runs.

Dodgers pick favorite Taylor Swift songs

Earlier this season, Dodgers players were asked to pick their favorite song by Taylor Swift during a segment that coincided with her string of concerts at SoFi Stadium.

Clayton Kershaw fittingly chose Swift’s “22” as his favorite song, which was also picked by Betts and Freeman.

Freeman jokingly added that he wished he was 22 years old again. David Peralta followed that up that his daughter’s pick of “Shake It Off” before doing his best to sing the chorus.
