Days after celebrating the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 2024 World Series title, Kiké Hernández clocked in at Raising Cane’s to work a shift that saw him take orders and serve out of the drive-thru window.
Mookie Betts enjoyed a similar experience earlier this year before the Dodgers embarked on their journey that ended with a title.
“I haven’t talked to Mookie about Raising Cane’s, but I’ve seen some of the footage, and I know he had a lot of fun so I was really excited to be here,” Hernández said as his shift began.
The public appearance was his first since stealing the show during the Dodgers’ World Series parade. It was also one of two opportunities fans had to connect with Dodgers free agents, as Walker Buehler held a meet and greet at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Cerritos.

“They’re the same that they were a couple days ago,” Hernández began when asked what his emotions were as some time passed since the Dodgers won their eighth championship in franchise history.
“This is amazing. This honestly is what we play for, winning a World Series. Finally getting our parade was everything we imagined, and even more. The way that the city showed up for us, it’s incredible. It’s really hard to put into words. These last couple days, last couple weeks, has been a dream.
“I’m sure that whenever I get home, I’m going to sit down on my couch and kind of come back to real life. But for now I’m really enjoying this dream.”

As for the job ahead at the popular chain, Hernández did not lack for any confidence despite being in a new environment.
“The chicken is going to be delicious. It’s going to be juicy, it’s going to be hot,” he said.
Kiké Hernández wants to re-sign with Dodgers
Both during a media session and speech to fans who gathered outside Raising Cane’s, Hernández expressed a strong preference to re-sign with the Dodgers so they could defend their 2024 title.
“I really, really hope that I’m back next year so we can run it back,” he said to adoring fans. “So make sure you guys talk to (Andrew) Friedman and those guys, and let them know.”
