Major League Baseball announced key dates for the 2024 season, which includes three international series, the 94th All-Star Game at Globe Life Field in Texas and special tributes to some of the sport’s biggest legends.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres begin the 2024 schedule with a two-game series in Seoul, South Korea, on March 20-21, 2024. It will mark the first MLB regular season games played in the country.
One week later, MLB has its traditional Opening Day on March 28, with all 30 teams playing. The Dodgers are hosting the St. Louis Cardinals in the Dodger Stadium opener.
MLB again will celebrate the legacy of Jackie Robinson on April 15, marking 77 years since the Hall of Famer broke the color barrier. The first full month of the regular season concludes with the Mexico City Series.
Then in June, the calendar will consist of Lou Gehrig Day, the London Series and Rickwood Field Game. The 94th MLB All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, July 16 at Globe Life Field in Texas.
Finally in September, Roberto Clemente Day will be recognized, and all 30 teams wrap up the regular season. The Dodgers will do so against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
Key dates on 2024 MLB schedule
March 20-21, 2024: Seoul Series
The Opening Series in South Korea marks the ninth international opener outside the 50 United States and Canada in MLB history.
The Dodgers are playing their first international series since facing the Padres in Monterrey during the 2018 season. L.A. also took on the Arizona Diamondbacks for an Opening Series in Sydney, Australia, in 2014.
March 28, 2024: Opening Day
All 30 teams are on the schedule, with the Dodgers hosting the Cardinals in the Dodger Stadium opener.
April 15, 2024: Jackie Robinson Day
Keeping up with tradition, the Dodgers will be at home on Jackie Robinson for a matchup against the Washington Nationals.
All on-field personnel will wear No. 42 to celebrate Robinson.
April 27-28, 2024: Mexico City Series
For a second consecutive year, MLB games will be played south of the border. The Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies are facing off for two games in Mexico City, Mexico.
June 2, 2024: Lou Gehrig Day
Lou Gehrig Day was established in 2021 to honor the New York Yankees’ icon and raise awareness for ALS. The Dodgers are playing the Rockies at home.
June 8-9, 2024: London Series
For just the third time in MLB history, regular season games will be played across the pond. The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies will play two games at London Stadium in the United Kingdom.
June 20, 2024: Rickwood Field Game
The Cardinals and San Francisco Giants will play the first MLB regular season at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama, as a salute to the Negro leagues and in observance of Juneteenth.
July 16, 2024: 94th All-Star Game
The 2024 MLB All-Star Game is being played for the first time at the Texas Rangers’ home stadium which opened in 2020.
September 15, 2024: Roberto Clemente Day
In 2002, MLB established September 15 as Roberto Clemente Day to honor the late Hall of Famer’s legacy as a humanitarian. The Dodgers have a road game against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.
September 29, 2024: Final day of regular season
All 30 teams will be in action, including the Dodgers, who end the regular season with a three-game series against the Rockies on the road.
