Justin Turner and his wife Kourtney kept busy Tuesday, first visiting the AM 570 L.A. Sports Radio studios before making their way to Pink’s Hot Dogs to finish off the night. At the core of both appearances was the latest effort by the Turners to raise funds for charitable causes.

The Justin Turner Foundation partnered with AM 570 for a second consecutive year to benefit the Los Angeles Dream Center through the station’s Help-A-Hero Radiothon.

Last year — the first time AM 570 officially partnered with the Dream Center and Justin Turner Foundation for the radiothon — a record $235,000 was raised. That amount was surpassed by the time Justin and Kourtney left the studio at 7 p.m.

It was aided by radio sports announcer Vic “The Brick” Jacobs agreeing to shave his beard in exchange for a $15,000 donation. “That was pretty cool,” Turner told DodgerBlue.com.

“I know Vic is very particularly about his beard and he’s been through so much the last two years. Just to see him walking around in good spirits was amazing. For him to be willing to let me shave off his pride and joy to bring in $15,000 for the veterans program, it speaks to the type of guy he is.”

Turner, who himself recently shaved his beard, contributed to the radiothon by matching donations up to $25,000 during the final 25 minutes of being on the “Petros and Money Show.”

After using their platform to support The Dream Center, Justin and Kourtney headed to Pink’s Hot Dogs, where they were met by droves of Los Angeles Dodgers fans and hungry customers. The famed establishment is celebrating their 80th anniversary by offering 80 cent hot dogs during a designated period of time. Proceeds benefitted the Justin Turner Foundation.

The Turners hopped behind the counter to serve multiple variations of hot dogs and shined in doing so. They quickly caught onto the efficient system Pink’s utilizes, posed for photographs and recited requested messages onto video for customers all the while assembling full trays of food.

The night of work culminated with Justin and Kourtney getting to sample hot dogs of their choosing.
