Dodgers News: Justin Turner Proposes Joint Championship Parade With Rams

When the Los Angeles Dodgers and L.A. Lakers both won championships two years ago, they recreated 1988 but would not be able to enjoy a parade with fans due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

There were whispers of potentially collaborating on a joint championship parade through downtown L.A., with Cody Bellinger and LeBron James among those to publicly support the idea. Unfortunately, health concerns never allowed that to come to fruition.

The Dodgers and Lakers each set their sights on repeating and getting an eventual public celebration, but both teams dealt with a rash of injuries and fell short.

Now that the Rams have become the latest team to bring a title to Los Angeles, Justin Turner raised the question of one parade for two teams as the Dodgers could revel in a delayed celebration due to the ongoing MLB lockout.

Hey @Rams, when is the parade??? We are locked out and available! #MegaParade #LA #CityofChampions

Although Turner did not attend Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium, he anticipated a close matchup between the Rams and Cincinnati Bengals.

“I think it’s going to be 27-24, Rams,” he said from the Justin Turner Golf Classic. “It’s going to be a field goal (late in the game) to win it.”

Under normal circumstances of an offseason, Turner and the Dodgers would be on the verge of starting Spring Training. Pitchers and catchers are still scheduled to report to camp this week, but that’s expected to be delayed due to a new collective bargaining agreement not being in place.

Turner among Dodgers to support Rams

Turner was in attendance when the Rams started their season with a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Chicago Bears. He was part of several Dodgers players showing their support for the Rams, which included free agent Clayton Kershaw attending the Super Bowl.

Kershaw and Matthew Stafford have a longstanding friendship that dates back to playing youth sports together in the Dallas area.
