The Justin Turner Foundation has again partnered with AM 570 L.A. Sports Radio to benefit the Dream Center this holiday season by helping raise awareness and financial assistance for veterans, along with providing Thanksgiving meals, Christmas trees and gifts to families in need.

Justin and Kourtney Turner have long worked hand-in-hand with the Dream Center, where Los Angeles Dodgers free agent Clayton Kershaw also carries out initiatives such as the annual Kershaw’s Challenge Back to School Bash.

When AM 570 first officially partnered with the Dream Center and Justin Turner Foundation for a radiothon in 2018, it raised $235,000. That total was then surpassed the following year, aided by Turner matching donations during a visit to the radio station for an appearance on the “Petros and Money Show.”

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic required a pivot from the radiothon last year and that has continued to present day with the Season of Giving initiative. Those wishing to support AM 570 and the Justin Turner Foundation can make donations at dreamcenter.org/donatenow.

Turner spent part of his birthday last year at the Dream Center, where he and Kourtney assisted with passing out more than 1,5000 turkeys and sides.

The nonprofit transitioned to a drive-thru model last year because of the pandemic and were supported by the Turners organizing with local restaurants to have meals delivered directly to the Dream Center, where they would then be distributed in the moving line for 11 hours each day.

The remarkable stretch culminated with the unveiling of the Justin and Kourtney Turner Food Bank. It provides for 60 other organizations in the area, plus daily feeding at the Dream Center, and it is binge utilized to supply 23 mobile food bank sites.

Justin Turner Foundation driven by Kourtney

Although the foundation bears his name, Justin has regularly given credit to Kourtney for the successes and impact made by the Justin Turner Foundation since its inception in 2016. He reiterated that after being named the Dodgers’ nominee for the 2021 Roberto Clemente Award.

The award is an annual recognition of a Major League player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
