The Los Angeles Dodgers have a mostly healthy group of position players at the moment, but they have dealt with some minor issues recently.
There was some concern with both Tommy Edman and Hyeseong Kim as the former has dealt with a sore ankle and the latter fouled a ball of his foot Tuesday night. Neither went on the injured list, but it was an option the Dodgers considered for Edman.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated Edman would return to the lineup on Thursday and that Kim was fine, but even with that, James Outman was at Dodger Stadium and had a locker in the clubhouse.
Roberts said Outman is with the Dodgers on the taxi squad, but is unlikely to be activated, via Fabian Aardaya of The Athletic:
Dave Roberts said that Outman had been here on taxi with Esteury Ruíz with Hyeseong Kim and Tommy Edman banged up earlier in the week. Roberts said both appear to be in the clear, so Outman and Ruíz will go back to OKC. https://t.co/BcI1n7T1wF

Outman last joined the Dodgers roster when Teoscar Hernández went on the injured list with a left groin strain. He appeared in nine games (six starts) and went 3-for-24 (.125/.222/.375) with two home runs and four RBI before being optioned on May 19 as the corresponding move for Hernández returning.
He has served two stints with the team this season after making the Opening Day Roster for th Tokyo Series, but he did not play before being optioned.
With Oklahoma City, Outman was hitting .271/.346/.558 with 12 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 42 RBI, 35 runs scored and seven stolen bases.
With a strong season in the Minor Leagues, Outman was hoping to carry some of that success to the MLB level, and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was looking for that as well.
However, he did not show enough consistency in his previous stint and was plagued by strikeouts once again. Those are the same problems that troubled the 27-year-old in his second season and let to his demotion to the Minors.
Esteury Ruiz on Dodgers taxi squad
On Wednesday, the Dodgers also added Esteury Ruiz to their taxi squad in the event that Edman had to go on the IL. They, of course, made the decision against activating the outfielder and instead kept Edman active.
Ruiz was acquired by the Dodgers in April as part of a trade that sent pitching prospect Carlos Duran to the Athletics. Ruiz reported to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he batted .274/.381/.411 with 12 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 20 RBI and 27 stolen bases over 45 games.
