Jack Flaherty Receives 2024 Dodgers World Series Ring From Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman & More

The Los Angeles Dodgers continued to celebrate their 2024 World Series title with a ring ceremony at Dodger Stadium on Friday night.

Manager Dave Roberts received a standing ovation, and the likes of Clayton Kershaw, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani drew some of the loudest cheers from the crowd.

Jack Flaherty, now back with the Detroit Tigers after being a key contributor for the Dodgers during their championship run, was honored before Saturday’s game.

Flaherty received a nice ovation from the fans in attendance as several members of the Dodgers presented him with a gold jersey, cap and 2024 World Series ring.

Flaherty went 6-2 with a 3.58 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in 10 starts after being acquired by the Dodgers at the trade deadline last year.

He struggled a bit in the playoffs but nevertheless found some success when it mattered most en route to helping his hometown team win the World Series.

The 29-year-old took a no-decision against his former Dodgers club on Friday after allowing two runs and three hits in 5.2 innings pitched.

Jack Flaherty was ‘savior’ for Dodgers

Flaherty’s arrival to the Dodgers last season was important as the team had lost a slew of starting pitchers due to injury.

“Somewhat of a savior, to be honest with you,” Roberts said of Flaherty’s time with the club.

“We were in a position last year where we were reeling with starting pitching, and we needed someone who could take the baseball every fifth day, to go pitch meaningful innings, give us a chance to win and kind of stabilize things on the pitching side. And Jack, a hometown guy, it was his dream to pitch for the Dodgers, and he delivered.

“So he’s going to be a friend of mine for life and I couldn’t have been more happy. He was the right person at the right time for our club. And I’m happy that he got family and friends who got to see him in a Dodger uniform, get a championship ring.”
