Zyhir Hope Ranked 1st On Top Dodgers Prospects List By Baseball Prospectus For 2025

The Los Angeles Dodgers farm system remains among the best in baseball, and with respect to the organization specifically, Zyhir Hope was ranked their top prospect by Baseball Prospectus heading into the 2025 Minor League season.

Josue De Paula appeared at No. 2 on the list, and between time with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and High-A Great Lakes, the 19-year-old batted .268/.404/.405 with 17 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 62 RBI and 27 steals.

De Paula is among the Dodgers’ most highly-touted prospects, mainly because of his elite skill set at such a young age.

Rounding out the ranking of top-10 Dodgers prospects are Dalton Rushing (No. 3), Jackson Ferris (No. 4), Alex Freeland (No. 5), Emil Morales (No. 6), Joendry Vargas (No. 7), Eriq Swan (No. 8), River Ryan (No. 9) and Kyle Hurt (No. 10).

Acquired in a trade last January with the Chicago Cubs, Hope immediately found success upon joining the Dodgers organization.

With the Quakes, he batted .290/.419/.484 with 16 doubles, nine home runs, 36 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Hope was one of six Dodgers prospects who took park in the 2024 Arizona Fall League, expanding on his impressive resume this past year.

Rushing appeared on Baseball Prospectus’ Top 101 list ahead of the 2024 season and went on to enjoy a successful year that included earning a promotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The Dodgers have transitioned Rushing away from full-time catching, with a shift toward playing left-field, in hopes that he can find a clearer path to MLB.

Also of note is Ferris’ inclusion on the Baseball Prospectus list, as he too is a strong candidate to debut with the Dodgers in coming years. The left-hander produced at two different Minor League levels in his first season with the organization, continuing to build on his big time production.

New Dodgers prospect in Gavin Lux trade

In the trade that sent Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds, the Dodgers acquired Mike Sirota in return.

The 21-year-old outfielder batted .324/.458/.577 with 39 doubles, six triples and 29 home runs in his three seasons with Northeastern University. Sirota’s best season came in 2023, when he batted .344 with 18 home runs and 54 RBI.

The Dodgers previously selected Sirota in the 16th round of the 2021 MLB Draft, but he went unsigned and attended college. The Reds then picked Sirota in the third round of the 2024 Draft.
