Taylor Trammell Excited For Guaranteed World Series Ring

As the Los Angeles Dodgers were in search of better production from the bottom of their lineup and Jason Heyward poised to land on the 10-day injured list, the team claimed Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Seattle Mariners in early April.

Matt Gage was designated for assignment in order to make room for Trammell on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster, and he was activated when Heyward went on the IL because of lower back tightness.

The 27-year-old remained with the Dodgers for nearly two weeks, at which point Trammell was DFA’d in order for the Dodgers to call up Andy Pages for his MLB debut.

Trammell was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees and finished the 2024 season in their organization.

Given that those two teams are now playing with a championship on the line, Trammell is looking forward to receiving a World Series ring regardless of the outcome but hopes to one day play a larger role in receiving one, per Sam Blum and C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic:

“I get a ring now and that’s such a cool thing to say. For me, this is so awesome because I can say I’m a World Series champion now,” Trammell said.

“The next step is to be a World Series champion, and being there when it’s won. That’s the next goal.”

In addition to Trammell, the likes of Heyward, Connor Brogdon, Nick Amed, Ahmed Rosario and Zach Logue would be among those eligible to receive a Dodgers World Series ring as well.

The World Series begins Friday, with Game 1 at Dodger Stadium. The Fall Classic shifts to Yankee Stadium for Games 3 and 4, beginning on Tuesday. If necessary, the Yankees also would host Game 5.

Taylor Trammell’s 2024 stats

Trammell went hitless in six at-bats while appearing in just five games for the Dodgers. He also played in five games for the Yankees, collecting one hit and drawing a walk in two plate appearances during that span.

Trammell .256/.381/.488 with 20 doubles, 18 home runs and 63 RBI over 106 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
