The Los Angeles Dodgers organization has been lucky enough to have some incredible broadcasters over the years, with the best, of course, being Vin Scully.

Scully spent 66 years calling games for the Dodgers, dating all the way back to their days in Brooklyn in 1950. His illustrious career came to a close when Scully retired at the end of the 2016 season.

Now that Scully is enjoying retirement, he has created social media accounts as a way to remain in contact and be able to tell stories to fans. there is nobody better at storytelling than him.

One of latest tweets was actually in recognition of another broadcaster as he congratulated the great Al Michael on being the 45th Ford C. Frick Award recipient, which is presented annually by the National Baseball Hall of Fame:

Congratulations Al, 45th winner of the Ford C. Frick Award. I said to Bob and now say to you: Welcome to the club! @mlb https://t.co/zSesvbL2Ry

— Vin Scully (@TheVinScully) December 10, 2020

Scully was given the Ford C. Frick Award all the way back in 1982, and he is not the only Dodgers broadcaster to receive it as Red Barber (1978), Jaime Jarrin (1998) and Al Helfer (2019) have also been recognized.

Michaels is one of the most decorated broadcasters in sports history, with a career dating back to 1964. He is mostly known for calling football games and the “Miracle on Ice” at the 1980 Winter Olympics, but he also called many postseason baseball games for ABC in the 1970s and 1980s.

His most memorable baseball moment, perhaps, came in 1989 when Game 3 of the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics was interrupted due to an earthquake at Candlestick Park.

Legends pay tribute to Scully on 93rd birthday

On Nov. 29, Scully celebrated his 93rd birthday, and a number of sports and entertainment icons created a video to pay tribute to him. Michaels was among those to participate, which further shows the mutual respect that the two icons share.
