The Los Angeles Dodgers kept their momentum rolling by routing the Colorado Rockies, 13-0, in the opener of an eight-game road trip.

Coming off a series against the Washington Nationals in which they scored 11 runs over three games, the Dodgers needed a mere four innings at Coors Field to match that total.

After extending his hitting streak to 15 games with a single in the first inning, Trea Turner moved into scoring position on Freddie Freeman’s walk. The Dodgers aggressively attempted a double steal, and it paid off as Elias Díaz throw to third base got away.

Freeman then scored on a wild pitch before Jose Ureña could make it through the inning. Ureña faced more trouble in the second as a leadoff single, walk and throwing error loaded the bases with nobody out.

Turner cleared them with a one-out double and Will Smith later produced an extra-base hit of his own to extend the Dodgers’ lead to 6-0.

The four-run inning put L.A. comfortably ahead but still was just the second-most they scored in the game. Two singles and an error by Ureña again loaded the bases with nobody out, and Smith took advantage with a two-run single that knocked the Rockies starter out of the game in the fourth inning.

Gavin Lux continued with his strong season by hitting an RBI single and Cody Bellinger drove a pair in on his double to the right-center field gap. Both hits were notable in that it came off lefty reliever Austin Gomber.

With plenty of run support behind him, Tyler Anderson pitched aggressively and got through seven shutout innings. He scattered four hits in a fifth scoreless start this season. Anderson additionally has logged at least six innings in each of his past five outings.

With the offense breaking the game open and pitching upholding the lead, the Dodgers again were able to get Freeman and Turner some rest. Turner exited in the fifth inning, and Freeman was removed in the seventh.

Since being traded to the Dodgers last season, Turner has produced hitting streaks of 27 games, 26 games, 16 games, 15 games (current) and 13 games.

Hanser Alberto pitches for Dodgers

With the game well in hand, Hanser Alberto pitched the ninth inning for his third appearance on the mound this season.
