The Los Angeles Dodgers loaded the bases on several occasions and broke the game open late in a 7-2 win over the San Francisco Giants. The victory snapped the Dodgers’ first two-game losing streak since late April.

The Dodgers were largely sparked by Justin Turner setting the table by going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI, and Corey Seager who had four RBI.

Like they did in Friday’s series opener, the Dodgers loaded the bases in the first inning, only to again leave them full. Seager’s RBI single in the third inning gave the Dodgers a 1-0 lead. After the Giants pulled ahead, Seager tied the game with a double in the fifth inning.

When Kyle Garlick’s first hit — a double — was followed by Joc Pederson being grazed by a pitch and Max Muncy working a walk to load the bases, Turner’s sacrifice fly gave the Dodgers a decided lead in the sixth.

Rich Hill labored but managed to keep the Giants to just two runs over five innings. He retired the first six batters faced before allowing a game-tying, leadoff home run to Aramis Garcia. The Giants went on to load the bases with one out in the inning but Hill escaped the jam by striking out Evan Longoria and retiring Tyler Austin.

Kevin Pillar’s leadoff double in the fourth inning led to more trouble for Hill as a walk followed and Donovan Solano’s RBI base hit gave the Giants a lead before Hill could end the threat.

Julio Urias backed Hill with two scoreless innings, and the Dodgers blew the game open with a four-run eighth inning. Max Muncy and Turner each walked with the bases loaded and after Bellinger was intentionally put on for a third time, Seager went to left-center field for a two-run double.

The hit was Seager’s fourth of the game which tied a career high. He’s done so seven times, and prior to Saturday last did against the San Diego Padres on April 18, 2018. Meanwhile, Bellinger became the 12th Dodgers player to be intentionally walked three times.

He additionally joined Mike Scioscia as the only players in franchise history with multiple games with three intentional walks in a single game.
