The Los Angeles Dodgers were slow to come out of their off day but eventually erupted in the sixth inning to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-2, and extend a season-best winning streak to nine games.

Adrian Houser retired the first nine batters faced before Mookie Betts led off the fourth inning with an infield single. Freddie Freeman then reached on an error, but both were stranded by Will Smith, Max Muncy and J.D. Martinez. Muncy and Martinez struck out looking.

The Dodgers trailed 1-0 at the time due to the Brewers manufacturing some offense in the first inning.

A single by David Peralta to lead off the fifth and Jason Heyward following with a double wound up sparking the Dodgers. Miguel Rojas’ RBI groundout tied the game before Houser could get through the inning.

L.A. then took over in the sixth, beginning with Martinez hitting an RBI double that broke the tie. Hoby Milner replaced Houser at that point and promptly gave up a two-run single to pinch-hitter Kiké Hernández.

Rojas added to his recent hot stretch with a two-out RBI base hit, and Betts also singled to drive in a run against Bryse Wilson.

Rojas led all players with three RBI and has six in his past two games.

Bobby Miller allowed a leadoff single and issued a walk in the first inning, which eventually led to a run when Sal Frelick grounded into a force out.

After walking William Contreras, Miller retired 18 batters in a row to get through six innings for a second start in a row. Miller only struck out four hitters but held the Brewers to just the one run on one hit and one walk.

Tuesday marked a seventh time over their last nine games that a Dodgers starting pitcher completed at least six innings.

Miller was followed by Ryan Yarbrough completing a three-inning save. He allowed a mammoth solo home run to Carlos Santana but nothing else. The save was Yarbrough’s first of his Major League career.
