Mookie Betts and the Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting a celebrity softball game on Thursday to coincide with Black Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium.
Betts’ celebrity game and Black Heritage Night come as part of Juneteenth recognition. Betts and former Lakers forward Matt Barnes are going to coach the teams.
The two additionally will provide in-game commentary while wearing the customized Juneteenth cream and black jerseys of their respective team. The jerseys feature Betts’ celebrity softball game patch on the sleeve.
“I’m super excited to host the first celebrity softball game on Black Heritage Night,” Betts said in a statement. “It’s going to be a good time with great vibes, and something I hope to do for years to come. Thank you to everyone who is playing in the game and helped put on this event.”
Nelly, Lil’ Wayne, Dom Kennedy, Lizzo, Big Boi, Victoria Monét, AzChike, Terrell Owens, James Loney, Jordan Love, Mo’ne Davis, Anthony Anderson, Rel Howery, Karrueche Tran are among those scheduled to participate.
Following the celebrity softball game, the Dodgers and San Diego Padres will conclude their four-game series with first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PT.
Tickets remain on sale for the series finale, and fans are encouraged to arrive early for the start of the celebrity game that begins at 5:30 p.m. Dodger Stadium gates are going to open at 5:10.

Another option for Thursday’s game is buying the special ticket pack that includes a custom Black Heritage Night jersey. The item is only available through direct purchase of the ticket pack from the Dodgers. It is not a stadium-wide giveaway.
Before and after the celebrity softball game, the Harmony Project will play on the warning track in the outfield. The Harmony Project is a Los Angeles based music education organization committed to empowering low-income families and under-resourced communities through musical arts.
DJ Severe will play walk-up songs for the players in the celebrity game and music between innings.
Dodger Stadium food for Mookie Betts’ celebrity game
Specialty food and drinks inspired by Betts’ hometown of Nashville will be served around Dodger Stadium.
Offerings include Nashville hot chicken wings and Mookie’s mac and cheese being served in left field plaza, right field plaza, and Reserve sections 4 and 31.
Sweet potato pie topped with whipped cream will be available at field section 46 and reserve section 2.
Mookie’s Music City Mule, a specialty cocktail, will be sold at bar locations throughout Dodger Stadium.
