Miguel Rojas ‘So Excited’ For Final Season With Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced the re-signing of Miguel Rojas to a one-year, $5.5 million contract to set the stage for the final season of his career.

Rojas first floated the possibility of retiring with the Dodgers back in 2024 and reiterated that stance during the postseason this year. More specifically, Rojas revealed the 2026 season would be the last one he plays, and the hope was that it would come in L.A. after reaching free agency this winter.

Shortly after the Dodgers finalized Rojas’ return, he expressed excitement over staying part of the group that looks to win a third consecutive World Series in a video shared by the team on social media:

“I’m so excited to be back for next year, what will be the last year of my playing career. And I can’t wait to play in front of you all once again at Dodger Stadium every single night. With one goal on our mind, which is winning another championship and being able to three-peat in front of you all.”

The 2026 season is going to be Rojas’ 13th at the Major League level. He will have spent five of those with the Dodgers in a tenure that’s come over two separate stints. Rojas made his MLB debut with the Dodgers in 2014 but then played for the Miami Marlins from 2015-2022.

In his four seasons with the Dodgers thus far, Rojas has hit .248/.304/.352 with 58 doubles, 19 home runs and 103 RBI in 426 games. During that time he’s played all four infield positions and also made eight pitching appearances.

Miguel Rojas joining Dodgers front office after retiring

After retiring next year, Rojas plans to immediately join the Dodgers front office and assist them in player development. Rojas revealed his plan while announcing on Instagram he was re-signing with the team.

Rojas taking on that role is not a surprise when considering the impact he’s made in the clubhouse. Particularly with Mookie Betts, who regularly praised Rojas for assisting his transition to becoming a Gold Glove-caliber shortstop.
