Miguel Rojas Nearly Brought To Tears By Dodgers Fans During Appearance At Legends’ Attic

Miguel Rojas made his way to Legends’ Attic for a signing event on Friday afternoon, which was also accompanied by an appearance on ESPN L.A. Radio.

It was the latest stop for Rojas, who has taken full advantage of the Los Angeles Dodgers becoming back-to-back World Series champions behind dramatic wins against the Toronto Blue Jays in Games 6 and 7 at Rogers Centre.

Rojas previously took in a Miami Heat game earlier in the week, where he did a jersey exchange with Jaime Jaquez Jr., and presented an award at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas on Thursday night.

He was treated to chants and applause throughout the day at Legends’ Attic, a sports memorabilia gallery and store with Orel Hershiser among its owners, and some fans presented Rojas with gifts as they posed for photographs.

Such a fervent response is to be expected for a two-time Dodgers World Series champion, and especially so when considering Rojas was part of key moments.

Rojas had a hand in the Dodgers’ back-to-back wins in Toronto, as he fielded a short-hop throw from Kiké Hernández for a double play that ended Game 6, and he delivered a two-out home run that tied Game 7 in the ninth inning. Already a revered leader in the Dodgers clubhouse, Rojas has become ever popular amongst the fanbase.

“I think Miggy said it best on the radio, about how special it is now for his life, the relationship with the fans. The outpouring of love and everything they are saying to him, and how it has changed his life,” Hershiser told DodgerBlue.com.

“If I relate it back to 1988, my life was changed too. So when that relationship gets established and then is passed on from one generation to the next, we have the Gibson and maybe the Hershiser. And then we have the Freeman and the Rojas and the Yamamoto.

“This generation has their heroes. That relationship with the fans I had in ’88 is possibly the motivation to this place in Legends’ Attic. It’s a fantastic feeling. It’s way more than being an 8-year-old and dreaming about hitting a home run in the World Series or striking out the last guy.”

Miguel Rojas emotional over Dodgers World Series hero reputation

As fans had various items autographed by Rojas, popular requests for inscription were references to his Game 7 home run and World Series hero.

“Writing those things down, that’s something you never dream of,” Rojas told DodgerBlue.com. “You just kind of have to live in the moment. It’s gets me feeling a lot of different feelings. It’s really hard to describe, because the first thing I want to do is cry.

“I don’t know why, but the emotions flare up. I know I’m probably going to sit down at one point, but right now I’m just kind of living in the moment.”

Rojas also received a Certificate of Recognition from the Claremont City Council during his time at Legends’ Attic.
