Lakers All-Star LeBron James Wears Jackie Robinson Dodgers Jersey For Black History Month

The Los Angeles sports world has been buzzing for the last couple of years as all of the major teams like the Dodgers, Lakers and Rams have acquired superstars to add to already talented teams.

Perhaps no star has embraced the L.A. sports world quite like LeBron James, who is often seeing wearing Dodgers caps when going to his games. Cody Bellinger and Joe Kelly returned the favor during the Dodgers’ annual dress-up day last year when they went as ‘Taco Tuesday’ as an ode to what has become part of James’ brand over the last year.

James has admitted that he’s not the biggest baseball fan, but he recently stuck up for the league’s players when he called out Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred in a tweet regarding the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal.

He then continued his support of the Dodgers and baseball by wearing a Jackie Robinson jersey to his game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night to close out Black History Month.

While other Lakers players like Anthony Davis and Kyle Kuzma have attended Dodgers games and thrown out the first pitch, James has not yet since signing with L.A. But as the Dodgers prepare for what they hope will be a World Series season, perhaps James will finally get out to Chavez Ravine.

His main focus right now is returning the Lakers to glory though. They currently have the best record in the Western Conference at 45-13 with their postseason just around the corner. James may be 35 years old, but he has shown no signs of slowing down this season.

The last time the Dodgers won the World Series in 1988, the Lakers also won a championship earlier that year. So the hope is that history will repeat itself, and the Lakers winning a championship this June will set the tone for a Dodgers World Series in October.
