With their backs against the wall, the Los Angeles Dodgers stormed back from a 3-1 deficit against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series to advance to the World Series for the third time since 2017.

The club celebrated the feat, but quickly turned their attention to the Tampa Bay Rays upon gathering at the hotel. “It is a quick turnaround with only one day off in between,” Justin Turner noted.

“By the time I got back to the hotel last night, the folder I have on my iPad of all the Rays pitchers was already uploaded. Guys have probably already today — if not later tonight — will probably be watching a lot of video on their pitchers. We’ll have our meeting [Tuesday] to prepare as best as possible and go out and do our thing.”

As the celebration carried over to the team’s hotel, a lot of the festivities shifted to baseball talk. “It was kind of funny,” Turner began.

“We got together back at the hotel last night in one of our big open outdoor spaces we’re allowed to meet in, and a lot of guys were talking baseball and talking about the series we just went through, different situations and plays that came up.

“Although I think we were trying to celebrate it a little bit, everyone’s mind went straight back to baseball.”

Most of the baseball talk centered around what the Dodgers did right against the Braves and how they can improve going forward. “I think we just pointed out some things we did well, some things we need to work on,” Mookie Betts said.

“Just little things each and every one of us have learned about the game. You can always learn from baseball. I think it definitely showed we’re here to win, man. Those conversations, you can tell. I’m just happy to be a part of it.”

Seager: Dodgers must ‘attack early,’ stay disciplined against Rays pitching staff

Corey Seager elaborated on some of the ways the Dodgers can replicate their success against the Rays, noting that the offense must attack early and stay disciplined. “Kind of everything,” he said of how the Dodgers can get better.

“Getting more disciplined in the middle part of games, attacking early and often, not waiting around. Little stuff like that. Attacking hitters more. Everything.

“We kind of were just going over the whole series and where we can improve. It’s baseball right now. That’s what we’re here to do and going to focus on.”
