The sports world is in collective mourning after legendary Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully passed away Tuesday night at the age of 94. He’s survived by five children, 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Scully’s illustrious career with the Dodgers spanned 67 seasons, from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, and included multiple World Series titles and an endless list of awards.

Following the Dodgers’ win over the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park, manager Dave Roberts, Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner were among those who reflected on their relationship with Scully.

More tributes poured in on social media, including from Dodgers Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín, part-owner Billie Jean King and former general manager Ned Colletti.

Lakers star LeBron James, mayor Eric Garcetti, Kirk Gibson and Dodger Stadium public address announcer Todd Leitz, Alanna Rizzo, Ryan Pepiot and DJ Severe were among those to celebrate Scully as well.

A legend and an icon who will never be forgotten.

Rest In Peace, Vin Scully. https://t.co/2rTJ9G6IVJ

I will never know anyone as kind, as gracious, as talented as Vin. Twitter isn’t big enough for all the memories, stories, instances of a person who was the best at what he did behind a microphone and who was even a better person than he was a broadcaster. Rest easy my friend.💔 https://t.co/wMDri5IMVg

Vin Scully's passing is the end of a chapter of our city's history. He united us, inspired us, and showed us all what it means to serve. Our City Hall will be lit up for you tomorrow Vin, our dear friend, the Voice of LA. Thank you from a grateful and loving city. #vinscully

It was an honor to listen to Vin talk about Brandon for those few years in la. Something we never took for granted. Everyone knows there will never be another. Thank you Vin

Whether in Brooklyn or Los Angeles, by transistor radio at the ballpark, or under the covers from afar, on TV or streamed, #VinScully’s voice brought us the @Dodgers, #MLB #Baseball, #Sport, and what is best about #America. https://t.co/wxZPIYRnYk

I used to meet with him at the coffee maker on Sundays and he would always ask how I was doing and about my family …I would always compliment him on his Gucci Loafers #RIH #VinScully 🕊 pic.twitter.com/rd2KkUgbED

Vin Scully, voice of the @Dodgers, has died.

He was a true sports storyteller & his #Dodgers career lasted 67 years, the longest tenure of any broadcaster w/a single team in pro sports history.

Our deepest condolences to his family. Rest easy, @TheVinScully. You will be missed. pic.twitter.com/wSbMf6NYtX

Vin Scully was my idol, and was a man who treated me like a colleague. I have only one signed baseball, and it has his name on it. pic.twitter.com/19rp7tRGvV

There are no words to describe the enormous loss. Vin was the voice of the #Dodgers for generations & nobody has ever commanded an audience better. As wonderful as a broadcaster, he was a better person. My heart aches. RIP to my friend & legend. https://t.co/q3QIOpROsZ

During Tuesday’s broadcast, Joe Davis and Jessica Mendoza both shared some of their favorite Scully memories. SportsNet LA also aired a commemorative postgame show that featured interviews with Rick Monday, Orel Hershiser, Nomar Garciaparra, Al Michaels and several others.

L.A. City Hall lighting up in honor of Scully

Garcetti announced on that City Hall will light up Wednesday night in honor of Scully. The building has done so in the past to honor Kobe Bryant, the Dodgers organization and others.

Scully called his final Dodgers game on Oct. 2, 2016, at Oracle Park. Considering he grew up rooting for the Giants in New York, it was a fitting send off for the longtime voice of the Dodgers.

The Giants celebrated Scully by installing a plaque in his honor in the visiting TV broadcast booth at Oracle Park.
