The Los Angeles Dodgers close out their homestand Wednesday with an opportunity to complete a two-game series sweep of the San Francisco Giants.

They face Alex Wood, who is in a second season with San Francisco after spending 2022 with the Dodgers. Wood went 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in three starts against L.A. last year.

Wood allowed two earned runs or fewer through his first three starts this season, but is coming off a bit of a rough outing against the Washington Nationals. He allowed five runs on eight hits, including a homer, over just five innings of work.

After days of deliberating, the Dodgers have decided on starting Tony Gonsolin in the series finale. He takes the mound on his normal turn through the rotation but with extra rest because of an off day earlier this week.

Manager Dave Roberts previously said the team was considering Gonsolin, along with a potential bullpen game and other options for Wednesday.

Gonsolin allowed three runs on five hits and issued four walks over 3.1 innings his only time facing the Giants last year. Overall this season, he’s 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across four starts.

Gonsolin held the Atlanta Braves scoreless over six innings on April 20, but had some regression his last time out against the Arizona Diamondbacks and only went four frames.

The Dodgers lineup features the usual starters, though with Gavin Lux receiving an opportunity to start against a left-hander. Chris Taylor enters play with a four-game hitting streak.
