The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the New York Yankees to capture their eighth World Series title in franchise history.
There were many memorable moments during the 2024 Fall Classic, including Freddie Freeman’s walk-off grand slam and Walker Buehler recording his first career MLB save in the Dodgers’ championship-clinching victory.
Freeman’s game-winning, bases-clearing home run was the first in World Series history and Buehler’s historic appearance out of the bullpen came on just one day of rest.
Freeman’s cleats and Buehler’s glove from the World Series are among the Dodgers postseason artifacts now on display at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.

Among other items on display are Mookie Betts’ batting gloves, Will Smith’s chest protector and cap, Clayton Kershaw’s championship cap, Dave Roberts’ cap, Anthony Banda’s Game 5 jersey, Max Muncy’s bat and batting gloves from his postseason-record on-base streak, National League Championship Series MVP Tommy Edman’s batting helmet and a ball from the ninth inning of Game 5.
Freeman earned World Series MVP efforts after batting .300/.364/1.000 with one triple, four home runs and 12 RBI in five games against the Yankees. The performance was even more impressive when considering he played through a broken rib in addition to his ankle injury.
As for Buehler, he ended the 2024 season on a strong note after struggling for most of the year. His turnaround began in the National League Championship Series, when he threw four scoreless innings against the New York Mets.
Buehler then logged five shutout innings against the Yankees in Game 3 before shutting the door on them two days later.
The right-hander is now a free agent for the first time in his career, along with seven other Dodgers players from the 2024 season.
