The Los Angeles Dodgers had five players featured in ESPN’s top 100 MLB players list for the 2023 season, led by Freddie Freeman (No. 5) and Mookie Betts (No. 9). Julio Urías (No. 46), Will Smith (No. 47) and Clayton Kershaw (No. 87) also made the cut.

Freeman is coming off a stellar first season with the Dodgers in which he batted .325/.407/.511 with an MLB-best 199 hits, 47 doubles, 21 home runs, 100 RBI, 117 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in 159 games.

Betts hit .269/.340/.533 with 35 home runs, 40 doubles, 82 RBI, 117 runs scored, 12 stolen bases, a 144 wRC+ and 6.4 WAR across 142 games.

Urías put together another strong campaign as the Dodgers ace, going 17-7 with a National League-best 2.16 ERA, 3.71 FIP, 0.96 WHIP and 166 strikeouts in 175 innings pitched. Urías heads into 2023 as the Dodgers’ Opening Day starter.

Smith continued to cement his case as one of baseball’s top catchers by hitting .260/.343/.465 with 24 home runs, 26 doubles, 87 RBI, 68 runs scored, one stolen base and a 127 wRC+ in 137 games.

Kershaw enjoyed a solid, albeit injury-shortened 2022 season as he went 12-3 with a 2.28 ERA, 2.57 FIP and 0.94 WHIP in 126.1 innings pitched (22 starts).

Mookie Betts, Clayton Kershaw & Freddie Freeman receive MLB The Show 23 Diamond rating

The Dodgers are ranked the No. 4 team in MLB The Show 23 by overall rating, with Betts, Kershaw and Freeman all earning diamond-tier overall ratings in the game’s Diamond Dynasty mode.

MLB The Show introduced the Diamond Club in 2020 to recognize the top tier of players available in the game’s Diamond Dynasty card-collecting mode which allows users to build a team of their favorite stars from around the league.

In the MLB The Show 23’s regular mode, the Dodgers have five players with diamond-tier overall ratings, including Betts (96), Kershaw (91), Evan Phillips (90), Freeman (88) and Smith (88). As a team, they slot in at No. 3 overall in pitching and have the fifth-best contact rating.
