FOCO released a new Shohei Ohtani bobblehead to recognize the Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star being the fastest player in MLB history to a 40-40 season.

Ohtani broke Alfonso Soriano’s MLB record as the fastest player to 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in season by doing so in his 126th game. Soriano accomplished the feat in 147 games.

Ohtani accomplished the feat in the series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays last Friday. His 40th stolen base came after reaching on an infield single in the fourth inning, and Ohtani’s 40th home run was a walk-off grand slam.

The walk-off home run was Ohtani’s first of his career. He also became the first player in MLB history to put himself in the 40-40 club with a walk-off grand slam.

The newest Ohtani bobblehead by FOCO differs from prior releases in that it’s a full scene.

The bobblehead depicts Ohtani in the home white Dodgers uniform while completing hitting and sliding action poses. The team-colored backdrop and base are adorned with palm tree accents familiar to Dodger Stadium, and the Dodgers logo is on the backdrop along with a text display of “8.23.24” to commemorate the date Ohtani made MLB history.

Text displays on the front of the base include “40/40 CLUB,” “40 HOME RUNS” and “40 STOLEN BASES” to further signify Ohtani’s remarkable talent.

Ohtani’s 40/40 bobblehead scene is limited to a production run of 240 units and won’t be restocked once quantities sell out.

Next milestone for Shohei Ohtani

Now on the horizon for Ohtani is likely becoming the first player in MLB history with 45 home runs and 45 stolen bases in one season.

Should he reach that, it could be a springboard toward MLB’s first 50-50 season.
