Eight Dodgers On ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel’s Top 100 Prospects List For 2025

The Los Angeles Dodgers are well-represented on ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel’s top 100 prospects list for the 2025 season, led by Roki Sasaki at No. 1 overall.

Additional Dodgers prospects ranked by McDaniel were Dalton Rushing (No. 16), Josue De Paula (No. 20), Alex Freeland (No. 37), Zyhir Hope (No. 70), Emil Morales (No. 80), Jackson Ferris (No. 93) and River Ryan (No. 94).

McDaniel not only included four Dodgers inside his top 40 this year, but a Major League-leading eight prospects on the top 100 board.

Unseating the Baltimore Orioles for the top-ranked farm system, the Dodgers regained the top spot. McDaniel ranks the Dodgers’ prospect pipeline with a $420 million value, trouncing that of the Chicago White Sox in second place ($313 million projected value).

Sasaki enters his rookie season with a high level of intrigue. Even with a step back in his fastball velocity last season, the right-hander posted a 2.35 ERA and 10.5 strikeouts per nine for the Chiba Lotte Marines.

Rushing was recently named as the most Major League ready bat in the Dodgers farm system, and since the team gave him a shot to play left field, he’s looked ready to go. Once promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, Rushing batted .273/.396/.511 with six doubles, nine home runs, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored in 37 games.

Higher up on McDaniel’s board than others is De Paula, who remains a wild card with every bit of upside. Defense still being a questions mark, De Paula’s natural hit tools are an attractive part of his game.

This past season, the 19-year-old batted .268/.404/.405 with 17 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 62 RBI and 27 steals.

Freeland is the top-rated shortstop in the Dodgers’ system. Between three levels in the Minors last year, he hit .260/.387/.442 with 32 doubles, 18 home runs, 74 RBI and 91 walks.

What else to love about Dodgers prospects in top 100

Ryan earned a promotion for his MLB debut after posting a combined 2.22 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 11.8 strikeouts per nine in 24.1 innings between the Dodgers’ rookie level affiliate, Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and Oklahoma City Baseball Club.

Ryan’s upside was seen with the Dodgers when he went 1-0 with a 1.33 ERA, 3.36 FIP and 1.18 WHIP across 20.1 innings over four starts. However, Ryan underwent season-end Tommy John surgery that is likely to keep him out until late 2025 in a best-case scenario.

Ferris and Hope were both acquired in the trade that sent Michael Bush to the Chicago Cubs, and the move proved to be a plus for the Dodgers. With the Quakes, Hope batted .287/.415/.490 with 16 doubles, nine home runs, 31 RBI and eight stolen bases.

Ferris boasts a strong outlook, with progressively positive numbers between High-A and Double-A. He was named as the fifth-best left-handed pitching prospect by MLB Pipeline.
