World Series ‘Bettor X’ Puts Money On Philadelphia Eagles For Super Bowl LII

The Los Angeles Dodgers, after winning an MLB-best 104 games during the regular season, were considered the betting favorite entering the 2017 World Series against the Houston Astros.

Both clubs traded blows for seven games before the Astros eventually claimed their first championship in franchise history. Despite the end result, the matchup will go down as one of the most exciting in World Series history.

The Fall Classic was also subject to a record amount of bets. One unnamed person who wagered, dubbed ‘Bettor X,’ successfully came out ahead with each World Series game.

Now he’s looking to strike gold again by betting on the underdog Philadelphia Eagles in their Super Bowl LII matchup with the New England Patriors, via David Purdum of ESPN:

The same unnamed bettor who took Las Vegas for millions on the World Series is back looking for another big score on the Super Bowl.

He’s betting on the underdog Philadelphia Eagles for big bucks.

Like the Astros, the Eagles are looking for their first Super Bowl championship in franchise history. It won’t be easy, however, as they have a tough task at hands against future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Tom Brady.

The Patriots are looking for their third Super Bowl victory in four seasons, and are currently listed as 4.5 favorites over the Eagles by the majority of Las Vegas sports books. By point spreads, Philadelphia is one of the biggest Super Bowl underdogs in decades.

After Super Bowl LII goes final on Sunday, the unofficial start of baseball season will commence. Pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in less than two weeks, while games follow suit in just under a month away.
