After defeating the New York Mets earlier in the afternoon to snap a five-game losing streak, the Los Angeles Dodgers now look to sweep the day-night doubleheader at Citi Field.

Gavin Stone makes his 10th start of the season and looks to rebound from an inconsistent outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He allowed four runs on eight hits and collected five strikeouts in six innings of work.

That ended a streak of six consecutive starts in which Stone allowed two or fewer runs. “I feel like I threw a lot of good pitches today. Just left a couple over the plate and they took advantage,” he said after the game.

Stone fell to 4-2 this season and brings a 3.60 ERA, 3.83 FIP and 1.30 WHIP into his start against the Mets. He took a no-decision in his only other outing against New York on April 20 after giving up two runs and four hits in 3.1 innings pitched.

The Mets counter with Jose Quintana, who is coming off a quality start against the Cleveland Guardians. The left-hander allowed three runs on four hits and collected four strikeouts in six innings of work.

Quintana enters at 1-4 with a 5.13 ERA, 4.63 FIP and 1.37 WHIP in 52.2 innings over 10 starts this season. The 35-year-old has fared well in his career against the Dodgers as he owns a 3-1 record, 1.78 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 12 appearances (nine starts).

Shohei Ohtani is out of the lineup, as was expected due to his continued hamstring injury. Will Smith starts at designated hitter in his place after catching the early game.

With a left-hander on the mound, Miguel Vargas, Miguel Rojas, Kiké Hernández and Austin Barnes are all in the lineup. None of them started the first game as the club instead opted for Ohtani, Jason Heyward, Chris Taylor and Gavin Lux to get the starts against the right-hander.

The game is scheduled to begin at 4:40 p.m. PT.

SS: Mookie Betts
