Before the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs kick off the 2025 MLB regular season in Tokyo, their prospects will battle it out as part of the MLB Spring Breakout series.

The Dodgers are hosting the Cubs at Camelback Ranch on Thursday in an exhibition game featuring some of the top prospects from both organizations.

This year’s Spring Breakout rosters feature 72 players from across the league who were featured on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospects lists for the 2025 season. The Dodgers contributed three top 100 prospects to that total, and more than half of their roster consists of players in the organization’s top 30.

Josue De Paula (No. 40), Jackson Ferris (No. 70) and Zyhir Hope (No. 74), makes up the cream of the crop among Dodgers prospects playing in this year’s Spring Breakout game.

On the other side, the Cubs’ roster also consists of a trio of top 100 prospects, with Cade Horton (No. 51), catcher Moises Ballesteros (No. 68) and infielder James Triantos participating in the event. The Cubs have two Spring Breakout games on the docket, as they are scheduled to play the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday as well.

MLB Spring Breakout is a four-day event showcasing some of the most promising prospects in the game, with the inaugural event taking place last season. A total of 16 games will be played from March 13-16 at Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums.

How to watch Dodgers-Angels Spring Breakout game

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PT and all 16 games will be broadcast live across MLB Network, MLB.com, MLB.TV and the MLB App, as well as on regional sports networks.

MLB Network is going to televise the 2025 Dodgers Spring Breakout game, but not until 7 p.m. PT.
