The Los Angeles Dodgers entered Friday’s game against the San Francisco Giants losers in seven of their last eight. The only game Los Angeles hadn’t lost over that stretch was Thursday, when they scored three runs in the ninth inning to tie with the Cleveland Indians.

Vin Scully was on the call for his first 2016 Spring Training action. He arrived at the Dodgers’ Spring Training facility on Friday afternoon and spoke with great enthusiasm over the season, which is now just over one week away.

The Dodgers went on to rout their rival, receiving four scoreless innings from Carlos Frias in his first audition for the fifth starter job, and plenty of offensive punch throughout the lineup.

With Carl Crawford standing on second base and following an Adrian Gonzalez two-out walk, Austin Barnes opened the scoring with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the first inning:

Barnes then stole second base, and Gonzalez scored on Buster Posey’s throwing error:

Rob Segedin’s RBI single pushed the Dodgers’ lead to 3-0 and knocked Giants starter Clayton Blackburn out of the game after just two-thirds of an inning pitched:

Chase Utley followed Yasiel Puig’s two-out double in the bottom of the second with an RBI double:

The hitting continued as Gonzalez went opposite field for a two-run home run:

With the Giants threatening to cut into their deficit, Barnes made a terrific recovery and throw on a wild pitch to nail Gregor Blanco at home plate to end the top of the third:

Charlie Culberson’s RBI double pushed the Dodgers’ lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the third inning:

Frias helped himself by hitting an RBI single, however he was easily thrown out attempting to stretch it to a double:

Segedin collected his second RBI of the night by driving in Pederson on a base hit:

Rico Noel, who replaced Puig in the fourth inning, lined a two-run single up the middle as the Dodgers’ rout was well underway:

Dodgers Minor Leaguers also contributed, with Adam Law driving in a run on an RBI base hit in the bottom of the seventh:

The Dodgers’ 13th and final run of the game was scored on Jake Henson’s RBI double in the bottom of the eighth:
