The Los Angeles Dodgers’ traveling team that made its way to Peoria Sports Complex to face the Seattle Mariners underwent some changes as Carlos Frias started in place of Brandon Beachy, Shawn Zarraga served as the designated hitter in place of Alex Guerrero.

Beachy started in the Dodgers’ other split-squad game against the Chicago Cubs, filling in for Alex Wood as the left-hander was skipped over due to left forearm tightness. Guerrero was removed from the lineup due to left knee soreness that’s kept him out since March 4.

The Dodgers mounted a ninth-inning rally after losing the lead to beat the Cubs, and Los Angeles needed 10 innings to come away with a win against the Mariners.

Frias retired the first six batters faced, but ran into some trouble in the bottom of the third and allowed Seattle to take a 2-0 lead.

Andre Ethier and Scott Van Slyke opened the fourth with consecutive base hits. Ethier then advanced to third base on an A.J. Ellis double play. The Dodgers cut into their deficit on a Ketel Marte throwing error after fielding a routine grounder off Zarraga’s bat:

Then with a runner on first base and no outs in the fifth inning, Elian Herrera crushed a two-run home run to give the Dodgers a 3-2 lead:

Following a throwing error that put Herrera on second base with no outs and the game tied in the seventh, he got slid under the tag to score on Brandon Trinkwon’s go-ahead, RBI bloop single into shallow left field:

With the game tied at 4-4 in the 10th inning, Rob Segedin connected for his third home run of the spring:

Trinkwon collected his second RBI of the night with a timely triple to tack on an insurance run for the Dodgers:

Trinkwon then scored on Rico Noel’s RBI infield single:
