Dodgers Video: ‘Road To Titletown’ World Series Celebration

Coming off another year of postseason heartbreak, the Los Angeles Dodgers again were among the World Series favorites heading into the 2020 season. That was particularly true upon the team completing a blockbuster trade with the Boston Red Sox to acquire Mookie Betts and David Price.

Of course, the Dodgers — and MLB as a whole — were halted before they could even get going. That led to Price opting out of the 2020 season in the best interest of his family, but the Dodgers nonetheless faced the same lofty expectations for a shortened schedule.

They lived up to that billing, finishing with the best record in baseball at 43-17 and extended their franchise mark to an eighth consecutive National League West title. Once October rolled around the Dodgers faced an expanded postseason that ended with their first World Series title since 1988.

Their postseason journey was documented by the team in an exclusive video that reviewed matchups against the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves and Tampa Bay Rays.

The Dodgers easily eliminated the Brewers and Padres, sweeping both teams to reach the NLCS a fourth time in the past five years. They dropped the first two games to the Braves, then fell into a 3-1 series deficit.

In what Kiké Hernandez later described as the team’s first true test of adversity this year, the Dodgers rattled off three consecutive wins to reach the World Series. They then toppled the Rays in six games, lifting a burden that had been hovering over the franchise for more than three decades.

Dodgers World Series DVD

While the Dodgers released their own highlights of the World Series run, it was commemorated by Vin Scully for an official documentary that will be available on Blu-ray/DVD and for download on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
