While the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers went back-and-forth through the first two of their three-game weekend series at Coors Field, the real fireworks didn’t come until Sunday afternoon.

Jordan Lyles struggled with his command as he walked three consecutive batters with two outs in the first inning to load the bases. Fortunately for Lyles, he caught a small break as the struggling Howie Kendrick came to bat and he grounded out.

The Rockies’ right-hander wasn’t nearly as fortunate in the second inning, when the Dodgers took a 1-0 lead on a Wood grounder that came after a Joc Pederson leadoff walk and Trayce Thompson double.

Lyles walked Seager to load the bases, then gave up a two-run double to Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez’s RBI groundout extended the Dodgers’ lead to 4-0. Colorado trimmed the deficit to 4-1 in the bottom of the second behind a Gerardo Parra RBI single.

However, the Dodgers quickly answered back. With one out in the third, Pederson clubbed his third home run of the season, a 393-foot solo shot that Carlos Gonzalez perhaps jokingly appeared to have a beat on before turning to watch the ball sail over his head:
