The Los Angeles Dodgers reported to Camelback Ranch last month for the start of 2023 Spring Training and now are in the midst of playing out their Cactus League schedule.

The team will be temporarily stationed in Arizona until they break camp for the annual exhibition Freeway Series against the Los Angeles Angels on March 26-28. For most players, that means being away from their primary home for longer than a month.

J.D. Martinez, Miguel Rojas, Will Smith and Noah Syndergaard were among those who shared their must-haves to ensure a successful Spring Training.

Martinez revealed that he brings a helmet, batting gloves, bats and fielding glove. He joked that his teammates mock him for having a fielding glove due to his status as the Dodgers’ designated hitter.

Rojas packs a bagful of gloves, sunglasses, sunflower seeds and other snacks, while Smith makes sure to carry an extra glove, bat and batting gloves. Syndergaard gave a more unconventional answer as he brings his ice plunge, sauna, hyperbaric chamber and personal chef.

Syndergaard signed a one-year contract with the Dodgers this past offseason, with the hope that the team can help him return to his previous form.

The right-hander went a combined 10-10 with a 3.94 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) for the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies last season. The former All-Star has battled inconsistency since a breakout campaign in 2016, which can largely be attributed to injuries.

Syndergaard is entering his second full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery in March 2020, and thus far, has thrown five scoreless innings across two Spring Training outings.

Noah Syndergaard believes he is ‘trending in the right direction’ with Dodgers

After collecting a pair of strikeouts in three perfect innings against the San Diego Padres and seeing his fastball velocity top out at 94 mph, Syndergaard believes he is continuing to make progress.
