The Los Angeles Dodgers are regarded as one of baseball’s most iconic franchises, complete with a rich history that dates back to their time in Brooklyn. The move to Los Angeles meant the need for a new home.

Thus, Dodger Stadium was built and opened April 10, 1962, in a matchup with the Cincinnati Reds. The backdrop at Chavez Ravine is among the most picturesque, while in-stadium aspects of the Dodgers’ home are some of the more recognizable in sports.

Dodger Stadium is the third-oldest ballpark in the Majors, behind Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. The Guggenheim ownership group has made notable upgrades in recent years, improving the stadium’s infrastructure and offerings.

One fan, Jaxon MacGeorge, took that a step further as he recreated Dodger Stadium in great detail using the popular Minecraft game, via Sports Illustrated:

Minecraft serves as a 3D-generated world, where the players can create and destroy buildings and items using cube blocks. The game is heavily based upon construction and destruction of items, finding items and fulfilling various quests.

On average, about one million players are consistently active on Minecraft servers at any time, with the fan base exponentially growing. The computer game, and now an app, allows younger players a first-hand opportunity to get creative with the construction process.

On the other hand, MacGeorge showed how game and its technology can be creatively used to construct something as recognizable and iconic as Dodger Stadium.
