Dodgers Video: Cody Bellinger & Will Smith Featured In 2019 MLB Postseason ‘We Play Loud’ Campaign

Major League Baseball released a new video campaign with the postseason beginning this week. The campaign is called “MLB Postseason 2019: We Play Loud,” and it features Los Angeles Dodgers teammates Cody Bellinger and Will Smith, among other youngsters.

The young talent has been on display all season not only on the Dodgers, but throughout all of baseball. In addition to Bellinger having an MVP-caliber season and Smith bursting onto the scene with two walk-off home runs, Los Angeles received major contributions from the likes of Walker Buehler, Alex Verdugo, Matt Beaty, Julio Urias, Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin and Edwin Rios.

Bellinger is starting to become one of the faces of baseball after his outstanding 2019 season in which he hit .305/.406/.629 with 47 home runs, 121 runs scored, 115 RBI, 15 stolen bases in addition to Gold Glove-caliber defense at three different positions.

He has also been featured in another video campaign by MLB that they called ‘Belli vs. Yeli,’ playing up the MVP race between him and Christian Yelich of the Milwaukee Brewers amidst their outstanding seasons.

Other young stars in baseball that were featured in the postseason video include Aaron Judge, Jack Flaherty, Ronald Acuña Jr., Alex Bregman and Juan Soto.

The Dodgers will be seeing Soto and the Washington Nationals in their National League Division Series matchup after they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Game on Tuesday night.

Soto came up with the big hit, a single off Josh Hader that scored three runs due to an error in the eighth inning to secure a 4-3 win.

As Bellinger gets set to play under the bright lights, he spoke about having a disciplined approach in the postseason this year as opposed to trying to match his early-season production. He has struggled at the plate in past Octobers, although he has certainly had his moments helping the Dodgers get to back-to-back World Series in his first two seasons.

Meanwhile, Smith is getting set for his first postseason run with the Dodgers. Dave Roberts has not yet committed to him as the team’s everyday catcher, but he is likely to see a lion’s share of the time behind the plate this October if he can handle it.
