Clayton Kershaw wasn’t sharp in his Cactus League debut but the Los Angeles Dodgers erased their early deficit and earned a 6-5 walk-off win against the Los Angeles Angels in front of a sold-out crowd at Camelback Ranch.

Kershaw allowed a leadoff home run to start the game and was facing a 2-0 deficit after the first inning. Kevin Padlo then hit a homer to open the third inning, which was Kershaw’s last on the mound. The Dodgers had planned on the left-hander going four innings.

The Dodgers began their comeback in the bottom of the fourth on Hunter Feduccia’s two-run base hit. He’s capitalized on multiple opportunities this spring and recently earned praise from manager Dave Roberts.

James Outman similarly added to his strong showing and tied the game with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fourth.

The Dodgers left the bases loaded in the seventh inning and were on the verge of doing so again in the eighth but Jorbit Vivas put them ahead with a two-out, two-run single.

But rather than that holding as the game-winning hit, the Angels rallied against Justin Hagenman. Luis Barrera tripled with one out and it was followed by Trey Cabbage hitting a game-tying home run.

Dodgers walk-off win

Just as the teams were inching toward their second tie in as many meetings this spring, Angels relief pitcher Kenyon Yovan lost control.

He struck out Steven Duggar to begin the bottom of the ninth, but Diego Cartaya then lined a single into center field, and Luke Williams and Jonny DeLuca both walked to load the bases.

Yovan appeared a bit frazzled by multiple pitch timer violations during the inning and wound up walking Eddys Leonard to give the Dodgers a walk-off win.
