The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently in the market to add a starting pitcher, as they recently lost one of their two aces, Zack Greinke, as the free agent signed a six-year, $206.5 million deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

While Los Angeles reportedly has one addition to the rotation in place with Hisashi Iwakuma agreeing to a three-year, $45 million contract, the Dodgers would stand to gain from acquiring another arm.

The number of free-agent options has decreased with Greinke, John Lackey, Price and Jeff Samardzija, among others, all off the board, one starter who remains available is Yovani Gallardo.

However, the Dodgers do not intend to pursue the 29-year-old Gallardo, according to Chris Cotillo of SB Nation:

Gallardo went 13-11 with a 3.42 ERA, 4.00 FIP and 1.42 WHIP over 33 starts with the Texas Rangers last season, which was his first with the club. He had 121 strikeouts to 68 walks in 184.1 innings.

Prior to joining the Rangers, Gallardo spent the previous eight seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was named to the National League All-Star team in 2010.

The Dodgers have been linked to the right-hander a couple times, once at the trade deadline this past season before trading for Mat Latos and Alex Wood, and then again just one week ago when Gallardo as a reported as fallback option.

The Dodgers currently appeared focused on acquiring a starter via trade, with Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez a top target.
