The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Edgardo Henriquez from Triple-A Oklahoma City and designated Lou Trivino for assignment. They now have one open spot on their 40-man roster.

Trivino allowed two runs while recording just one out yesterday and suffered the loss. It was his third consecutive day of pitching for the team.

He made 26 appearances for the Dodgers, allowing 11 runs in 26.1 innings (3.76 ERA). Trivino originally came in at a time when the Dodgers were desperate for fresh arms and established himself as a a solid contributor.

That earned him more appearances in high-leverage, but he started to see his production decline and reverted back to a middle relief role once Kirby Yates returned from the injured list.

Prior to joining the Dodgers, he went 1-0 with a 5.84 ERA in 12.1 innings and 11 strikeouts with the Giants. He has been in the Major Leagues parts of six seasons with the Athletics (2018-22), New York Yankees (2022) and Giants (2025), going 323.1 innings with a 24-26 mark and a 3.92 ERA.

He signed as a Minor League free agent with the Dodgers on May 11 and made one appearance for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Edgardo Henriquez back with Dodgers

Henriquez began the season on the 15-day injured list after suffering a fractured left foot during Spring Training. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts repeatedly declined to provide specifics over the nature of Henriquez’s injury, only to say it occurred away from the field.

He was later transferred to the 60-day IL on April 18 and he was activated on June 29 while being optioned to Triple-A.

The right-hander pitched in 12 rehab games prior to being activated, allowing nine runs on 14 hits over 12 innings of work, giving him a 6.75 ERA. He did strike out 16 batters while walking just six.

Overall this season, he’s thrown 18.1 innings with a 5.89 ERA with 26 strikeouts to 11 walks, but he’s also been better in each month since his return, posting a 13.50 ERA in May, 6.35 ERA in June, and 4.26 ERA in July.

Henriquez made his MLB debut last season and tossed 3.1 innings with a 2.70 ERA, 1.97 FIP, 13.50 strikeouts per nine, 5.40 walks per nine and a 1.20 WHIP.

Henriquez helped the Dodgers set a franchise record with 40 pitchers used in a single season, and then later extended their franchise record by becoming their 14th pitcher to record a save in the season.

He ended up making the postseason roster for the National League Division Series and Championship Series, where he threw five innings and allowed four runs on eight hits in total.

Henriquez spent time with four Dodgers Minor League affiliates last season, going a combined 1-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while collecting 88 strikeouts in 53 innings over 43 games (five starts).
