The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled right-hander Brock Stewart as their 26th man for Game 2 of their day/night doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Stewart has been back and forth between Triple-A Oklahoma City and the big leagues for much of the season, filling in as both a reliever and spot starter when needed.

He has pitched in eight Major League games so far (two starts), posting a 5.60 ERA, 6.15 FIP and 1.64 WHIP with 14 strikeouts and eight walks in 17.2 innings. His last appearance was on June 8 against the Pittsburgh Pirates when he got roughed up for three runs (two earned) while getting just one out.

He has faced the Cubs once in his career in 2016, and one of his best career starts, allowing just two hits in five shutout innings while striking out eight and walking two.

Stewart has pitched well in six starts at the Triple-A level so far this year, yielding a 2.55 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 24 strikeouts compared to nine walks in 24.2 innings. He will likely be optioned back at the conclusion of Tuesday night’s game.

The Dodgers won the first game of the doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, erasing a 3-2 deficit with two outs in the ninth inning to earn a 4-3 victory over Chicago.
