Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Jerming Rosario was named the California League Pitcher of the Week for games played May 2-8.

The right-hander earned his first win of the season with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga after tossing five no-hit innings and collecting six strikeouts against the Lake Elsinore Storm on May 6. Rosario improved to 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 1.98 WHIP in 14.2 innings pitched (five games).

The 20-year-old was part of the Dodgers’ 2018-19 international signing period class, along with Diego Cartaya, who now is considered one of the top catching prospects in all of baseball.

Rosario pitched well for the Dodgers’ Dominican Summer League team in 2019, then struggled during the 2021 Minor League season as he went 0-6 with a 7.36 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 14 games between the organization’s Rookie-level affiliate and Quakes.

Others in the Dodgers farm system to earn Minor League honors this season include High-A Great Lakes pitcher Kyle Hurt, Triple-A Oklahoma City utility man Zach McKinstry and heralded prospect Ryan Pepiot.

Dodgers prospect Pepiot makes MLB debut

One month after being named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for games played April 5-10, Pepiot will make his MLB debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park on Wednesday.

Pepiot has performed well for Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, going 2-0 with a 1.66 ERA in five starts during the month of April. He allowed just four runs — split evenly over two starts — and collected 29 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .182 batting average across 21.2 innings pitched.

Pepiot’s longest start was his most recent outing, during which he completed six innings and allowed two runs. His most dominant performance came April 22, when the Dodgers’ No. 2 pitching prospect had a season-high eight strikeouts and allowed three hits over five innings.
