Los Angeles Dodgers prospect James Outman followed up on his Aug. 26 performance in which he hit for the cycle with another terrific game in a 17-8 win for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
Outman logged the first cycle for an Oklahoma City Dodgers player since 2011, and on Tuesday his four-hit showing became his second cycle in the past week. OKC had a combined 17 hits and 17 RBI against the Round Rock Express.
Outman went 4-for-4 with five RBI on Tuesday, after a first-inning walk, he slugged a three-run home run in the second, bringing the score to 10-0 in favor of OKC. He then hit a double in the fourth inning and slugged a two-strike triple in the sixth.
With the game in hand when Outman stepped up to the plate in the ninth inning, he lined a two-run single, bringing the score to 17-8, which would end up as the final.
The Dodgers’ No. 13 prospect has posted a .997 on-base plus slugging in the Minor Leagues this season, including 25 home runs and 90 RBI. Over the past week for OKC, Outman is 15-for-23 with 12 extra-base hits and 18 RBI over a six-game stretch.
Outman has continued to impress following his cup of coffee in MLB at the backend of July and early August. Since Aug. 5, he’s batting .486 in 43 plate appearances and a .670 wOBA.

During his MLB debut against the Colorado Rockies on July 31, Outman made a bit of Dodgers history. His first career big league at-bat resulted in a two-run blast deep into right field.
He became the first Dodgers player to homer in their debut at-bat since Keibert Ruiz in 2020. Outman later tacked on an RBI double and single, ending his day by going 3-for-4, making him the first Dodgers player in franchise history with three hits, a home run, three RBI and two runs in his debut game.
