The Los Angeles Dodgers went into play Saturday in a bit of a funk, losers of three straight, including dropping the series opener against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park.

They looked as if they were getting things right in the first game of their doubleheader, though, scoring six runs on six hits in the first two innings off Giants start Chris Stratton. But it came at a cost, as Yasiel Puig left the game after the second inning with an injury.

Puig ran into the wall in foul territory in right field making an outstanding catch to end the first inning. He then fouled a ball off his foot in his at-bat in the second. Puig finished the at-bat with a fly out.

It was running into the wall that injured him though, as he left with a left hip injury, via Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet LA:

Puig’s status for the second game of the doubleheader is unknown, although it is unlikely that he will be in the starting lineup.

If he is forced to go to the disabled list, it is possible that top outfield prospect Alex Verdugo gets called up and sees the majority of the time in right field.

Joc Pederson has also been swinging the bat well as of late, so Dodgers manager Dave Roberts could also elect to reward him with more playing time.
