Dodgers News: Rich Hill Praises Tiger Wood For Overcoming Obstacles To Win The Masters

Sunday was a special day in the sports world as not only did the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Milwaukee Brewers to snap a six-game losing streak, but Tiger Woods played an outstanding round of golf to win the 2019 Masters, his first major championship in 11 years.

Woods has been through a lot in the last decade since he last won a major. It included the highly-public scandal with his wife, getting arrested and undergoing a number of knee and back surgeries that left him to believe he would never play again at one point.

Despite all the challenges and low points in his personal and professional life, Woods persevered and was rewarded with the illustrious green jacket for the fifth time in his career.

Woods’ performance on Sunday caught the attention of a number of Dodgers players in the clubhouse before their game. In an interview with David Vassegh of AM 570 L.A. Sports Radio, Rich Hill had high praise for Woods and what he was able to accomplish this past weekend:

“I think it’s the comeback. Throughout his entire career and especially early on, he was the best golfer that anybody had seen quite a long time. I think going through his injuries and things off the course that were happening, to have the resiliency and consistency to stay with his passion of the game of golf, to see him back on top, people want to see the best on top. Whether it’s your favorite team or favorite player, we want to see the best succeed. It was certainly the case in the locker room. To see that determination and seeing him back on top is a good thing for golf.”

Having lost the last two World Series, the Dodgers can perhaps learn something from Woods as they look to capture that championship that has alluded them since 1988.

Los Angeles once again has a strong team in 2019 so it is just a matter of getting over that final hump like Woods did on Sunday.
