Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Mookie Betts will compete in the West Region qualifier for the 2022 PBA Players Championship, which begins on January 15. All West Region qualifiers will take place at Bowlero Cerritos in Cerritos, Calif.

Five players from each region (West, Southwest, Midwest, East and South) will advance to the regional finals, which will be held on January 22. The championship finals will air live on FS1 on Saturday, January 29.

Betts last competed on the PBA Tour in the 2020 Hall of Fame Classic. He bowled an average score of 198.6 per game in what marked his only professional event of the year.

Prior to that, Betts took part in 11 PBA events during the 2017 season and averaged a score of 205.6 per game. He famously rolled a 300 score in the World Series of Bowling IX and guessed at the time that it was his 10th career perfect game.

Betts also competed in five PBA events during the 2015 season and bowled an average score of 190.1 per game. Among his other bowling accomplishments include winning the 2019 CP3 PBA Celebrity Invitational with professional bowler Tommy Jones.

Betts learned how to bowl at an early age from his mother and quickly took to the sport. He set multiple Tennessee high school records en route to being named the Tennessee Boys Bowler of the Year in 2010.

Betts added another 300 game to collection

Betts returned to the bowling alley this past weekend and added another 300 score to his résumé while playing recreationally with family.

Aside from his offseason workouts and bowling ventures, Betts is among the celebrities who will play in the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which begins on January 31 and runs through February 6.
