UPDATE (April 15, 9:30 p.m. PT): Following Saturday’s victory, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Logan Forsythe will not be in the lineup Sunday. The Dodgers expect to reevaluate Forsythe after that point.

Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Logan Forsythe was removed in the fifth inning on Saturday night in what initially appeared to be a peculiar double switch. However, the Dodgers later announced Forsythe was removed for precautionary reasons with right hamstring tightness.

Prior to his removal, Forsythe was 3-for-3 with a double, two singles and one run scored. He entered the night batting .310/.408/.357 with two doubles, two RBI and five walks in 12 games.

Forsythe at one point was mired in a 0-for-14 skid that stretched over parts of five games. He was given one game off, though appeared as a pinch-hitter, and upon returning to the lineup, went 3-for-5 with a double, run scored and RBI.

The 30-year-old said there weren’t any mechanical changes, but instead a focus was put on again finding a ‘feel’ at the plate.

Should Forsythe need to miss time, the Dodgers presumably would turn to Chase Utley as the primary starter at second base. The team could also use Kiké Hernandez in the infield, and/or recall utility man Chris Taylor from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Aside from the six players who began the season on the disabled list, the Dodgers have already incurred a minor injury with Rich Hill, who was put on the 10-day DL due to a blister on his left middle finger. Hill is expected to be activated and start Sunday.
